2015 is a massive year for The Nimmo Brothers as it marks 20 years since the two brothers from Glasgow decided to join forces and have some fun making music back in the pubs and clubs around Scotland.
Many thousands of miles have been travelled since those early days of playing over 200 shows per year in order to learn the trade in which both have excelled over these last 2 decades.
With both Stevie and Alan currently enjoying successful solo projects, one perhaps wouldn’t be wrong in surmising that the best days of The Nimmo Brothers as a band were well and truly behind them – but then one would also be well and truly mistaken!
The truth is that the brothers from Glasgow are very much back in business! In fact, as Stevie and Alan are always keen to point out, they never really left in the first place!
Once again The Nimmo Brothers are out to show the world that the term “taking it easy” simply doesn’t exist in the vocabulary of one of Scotland’s finest exports since the great Frankie Miller and a couple of slightly more famous brothers named Young!
Demand for the brothers has never been stronger and having already completed a 14 date European tour back in January to start things off with a bang, this 20th anniversary year finds The Nimmo Brothers still going strong with an appetite for playing live and an on-stage energy which puts many of their younger peers to shame!
Throughout their career together The Nimmo Brothers have consistently produced strong, honest and original music. Over the years they have released 7 albums together to worldwide critical acclaim. So, for this next tour, and, with such an extensive back catalogue of material to choose from, there will most definitely be something for all tastes in the set list.
This is indeed an historic year for The Nimmo Brothers and it is testament to their tenacity and hard work ethic that even after 20 years they are still capable of performing with unrivaled passion and energy.
In short, these boys simply love what they do and will continue to do what they love for a long time to come.
The Nimmo Brothers are quite simply and without doubt the benchmark in modern UK blues – disappointment is most definitely not an option!
Roll on the next 20 years!
